It’s A Matter Of Time
We Live By The Clock
We call the process of delivering fresh, safe, great-tasting milk From Farm to Fridge. It doesn’t take long for the milk to reach your favorite stores.
In fact, we’ll show you just how little time it takes.
The Farm
It all starts on one of our around 270 family-owned dairy farms. All cows are milked regularly and made comfortable. In fact, they look forward to it. This milk gets stored in a storage tank on every farm as it waits for one of our dedicated haulers to pick it up.
Hauling
Once the milk is picked up from each farm, the hauler takes it to one of our nearby processing facilities for further quality and safety checks. There are seven manufacturing facilities in the Upstate Niagara Cooperative, and all are SQF Level 3 certified under the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI).
The Plant
When the milk arrives at a processing facility, after strict quality testing it is placed into a refrigerated silo until it is processed and packaged into delicious, high-quality dairy products.
Packaging
In most cases, our milk is processed and either bottled or used in the manufacturing of other dairy products and packaged within 36 hours of leaving the farm. This quick turn-around results in fresher, better tasting products for our customers.
Distribution
Once our products are packaged, they can be out the door and on the store shelves the next day! With a large distribution network that includes our plants, our reliable fleet of haulers, and a carrier network throughout the country, Upstate Niagara Cooperative can get our quality dairy products to where you are.
Satisfaction
So once the milk leaves the farm, it’s tested, packaged, delivered and in your home in only two or three days time. In 48-72 hours, your family can enjoy our life’s work. Upstate Niagara Cooperative will continue to offer the best-tasting, safest and most nutritious dairy from our family to yours.
